The present Desk assessment on Mining in South Eastern Europe is the first step in the Phase II of the Environment & Security Initiative. Phase II will produce an in-depth assessment of risks, vulnerabilities from mining activities and needs in the hot spots identified through phase I, and suggest a number of remedy actions and projects that are thereafter developed within the framework of the EnvSec Initiative.
